Team Walker students celebrated Valentine’s Day on Feb. 13 with STEAM-related activities at the After School Program. Teachers and members of Team Walker planned something unique for each grade of students.
Ms. Solivan’s fifth-grade students learned about engineering while building swing sets using cardboard tubes, straws, paper clips and pipe cleaners. Ms. Medina’s and Ms. King’s third-grade students conducted a heart rate activity to monitor changes in heart rate in response to different activity levels. Ms. McRae’s Kindergarten students practiced their ELA skills with decorative cards and crafts for family and friends while second graders celebrated with a Valentine’s Day class party, to name a few.
